The Cheese Box: Westwood’s Own Treasure Trove of Delicacies

cheeseBack in January I wrote a blog on the experts of Pairing Wines at Wally’s Wine and Spirits, where I had the chance to meet and speak with Steve Wallace, who gave me a personal tour of  his distinctive boutique wine shop. Successfully, Wally’s has expanded and The Cheese Box in now open -  a cheese and specialty food department that is truly a treasure trove of amazing cheeses – some hard to find, many usual but all of them absolutely amazing!  The name of the store says it all – it truly is a small little shop shaped like a box that  is right across the parking lot from Wally’s.

Jenny Knotts who is known as Wally’s Cheese “Monger” for the past five years not only knows her cheeses but also other specialty foods which is evident in the selection of unique chocolates, freshly prepared sandwiches, olive oils and so much more.  Jenny is now assisted by Bradley Watkins and the customer service that Wally’s has always put such an emphasis on is absolutely alive and well now at The Cheese Box.  You can expect to walk in, have a conversation about what you are looking for, perhaps have a sample or two and then leave with some amazing gourmet goodies that will impress anybody.

Wally’s is truly on a quest to be the best in personalized one-on-one service and create steady and repeat business.  I know that my 5 minute stop in ended up being a 30 minute journey of yummy flavors, wonderful information and fun new discoveries.  If you are unsure of that one appetizer to bring to the Saturday night dinner party, I know that Jenny or Bradley will be at The Cheese Box excited to help you out!

The Cheese Box hours: 10am – 7pm Monday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm and they are offering a free baguette up until August 15th as a way to say thank you for coming by – but really we should be thanking them for opening their doors!

I would love to hear about your experience at The Cheese Box – What did you sample? What did you buy? What kind of fabulous discovery did you make?
